Crazy
Your thin end for today:
I was just listening to a wee bit of Patsy Cline. Wow, what an amazing voice she was. She died in a plane crash in 1963, you know.
Earlier, I was listening to a song by Johnny Van Zant, written about his brother Ronnie Van Zant, one of the members of Lynard Skynard killed in a plane crash on October 20, 1977. Neat song, it's called "Brickyard Road".
Then there was Stevie Ray Vaughan. A helicopter crash got him in 1990.
Buddy Holly was cool, and the Big Bopper. And who can forget Ritchie Valens and La Bamba. One plane got all three of them, the day the music died in February 1959.
And Glen Miller. I was raised on his stuff and still love it. Of course, he was "lost" over the English Channel in 1941. Hell of a way to get "in the mood", hmmm?
All that talent, just smashed upon the planet. What a waste. You know, some days I'm almost glad that I sing like a rusty hinge in the wind and can barely remember a note...
I think that if I was k.d. lang, Melissa Etheridge, Don Henley, Rob Thomas or Sarah Mclaughlin I would be staying away from aircraft. I don't think Marianne Faithfull has too much to worry about, though. I think Ozzie's pretty safe, too, bless him.
~~ At the age of thirty-seven she realised she'd never ride
